Root Canal Therapy
Do you have a decaying or infected tooth? If so, it's likely you require root canal therapy. Choose Delta's Nordel Dental Clinic in Delta for effective root canal therapy, also referred to as endodontic treatment. During the treatment, our dentists will keep your teeth in place rather than having them removed.
Unfortunately, this treatment has gained a negative reputation over the years. The procedure is not as complex or invasive as popular opinion would have you believe. In fact, root canal therapy at our Delta office is fairly straightforward and offers a range of benefits to our dental patients:
Root canal therapy at Delta's Nordel Dental Clinic is not an overly complex procedure. First, our dentist will administer a local anesthetic to freeze or numb the area. Next, our dentist will place a rubber dam around the tooth to prevent bacteria found in saliva from entering the inside of the tooth. Our dentist will then remove the tooth's damaged pulp by cleaning and enlarging its root canal system. Once it is cleaned, our dentist will fill and seal it with either a temporary or a permanent filling. After the procedure is completed, a crown may also be necessary to restore your tooth.
Root canal therapy can be performed in as little as one to two dental visits. Tenderness may be expected for a week or two after treatment. However, severe pain or swelling is not normal. Should you experience either, contact our office immediately. Although not common, if the therapy does not work, then the tooth may require a second procedure or be extracted. At Nordel Dental Clinic in Delta, we will only offer you to extract your teeth if you absolutely need it.
